Kinston, NC (ENCN) – A Wells Fargo bank employee has been charged with assault by strangulation following an incident on June 20th.
According to the Kinston Police Department, officers responded to a call of an assault at the Wells Fargo branch located on W. Vernon Avenue. A customer reported that a verbal altercation with an employee escalated into a physical confrontation.
Lucretia McMurtry, 55, was identified as the suspect. The victim alleges that McMurtry grabbed her by the neck, shook her violently, and began to strangle her.
Following an investigation, McMurtry was charged with felony assault by strangulation and resisting a public officer. She was subsequently released on an unsecured bond.
