On Tuesday, Governor Roy Cooper held a round table discussion in Williamston to explore the lack of resources in rural areas and the failure of Medicaid expansion in our state.
Now that Martin County is without a hospital, citizens need all the help they can get.
According to the previous charge nurse for the Emergency Department, there are some plans in the works to reopen the emergency department, but it won’t be a quick process if it happens at all.
The Governor stated that his office will continue to do everything possible to assist.
“Know that we care know that we want to try to help and work through some solutions,” stated Cooper.
