GREENE COUNTY, NC – A popular Greene County haunted house attraction has been destroyed by fire, forcing its closure for the remainder of the 2024 Halloween season.
The fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the “Wicked Haunted House,” located on Frizzelle Farm Road between Maury and Hookerton. Fire crews arrived to find the house engulfed in flames, and it was completely destroyed.
On Sunday, the attraction’s operators took to Facebook to announce the devastating news and confirm that the house would not be reopening this year. However, they vowed to rebuild and return in the future.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
