OUTER BANKS, N.C. – In the wake of Tropical Storm Debby, local and state officials are urging residents and visitors to stay out of the ocean along the entire North Carolina coast.
Storm conditions have led to dangerous water quality levels, with elevated levels of bacteria posing a significant health risk to swimmers. This advisory extends from Wright Memorial Bridge in Kitty Hawk South to the South Carolina state line.
Beachgoers are advised to exercise caution and avoid entering the water until further notice. Officials will continue to monitor water conditions and provide updates as needed.
